Explain why you selected the artifact.
So this course was our "elective", in that we were told from the outset of the class that it would not be a course we would be required to provide an artifact from. However, seeing as how I have chosen to not include the non-tech course we took in my capstone, I feel like there is a need to include this course and the artifact.
Include how the skills and knowledge gained from creation of the artifact advanced your skills and teaching practice.
During this course, I learned new skills related to website development. In conjunction with information about copyright and fair use, I combined the skills and used some creativity to make a faux FoxNews site. This type of exercise would be a great way to demonstrate to students the need for some judgment when viewing things online.
Identify what gaps in your skills and knowledge still exist. Suggest solutions to address the gaps.
While I did learn much about Web Development, I also realize the limitations of what one can learn in a short amount of time. If I were looking to become a webmaster, a website designer, etc. I would have to learn much more about HTML and CSS to be effective. For now, I am content with the skill set I have. I am able to use the tools that are easily accessible, like wikis and Google Sites.
